Firstly, let me apologise for this post being a day late…. I should have posted last night but for a few technically difficulties (read: I couldn’t find the cord that connects the camera to the computer and the boy wasn’t home to find it….)

Ok, day 4 – told you it would be tricky! A day of sightseeing in Auckland (thank goodness it wasn’t raining!) called for ‘sensible shoes’ again ( I say that with ” ” because I don’t really own sensible shoes…. I just own pretty shoes, some of which are flat, therefore more ‘sensible’ that heels).

As mentioned in Day 3’s post (read it here) my black ballet flats were my go-to shoe in Brisbane and they made a guest appearance today. It was not quite as cold as yesterday so I thought I’d take the risk and wear shoes without socks (I’m such a dare-devil aren’t I!).

you can never go wrong with simple, black flats like there from asos ($34 NZD)

I’m always on the lookout for a great pair of plain black ballet flats, I’ve found great options at Country Road (buy them here), Windsor Smith and ASOS (buy them here). My current pair are from ASOS and I am loving them!

Wearing options: Now I don’t need to tell you that you can wear black ballet flats with practically ANYTHING so there are a million different wearing options. One of my favourite looks is with a footless legging or fitted pair of ponte pants – I think the simple black shoe at the end of a fitted black pant helps elongate your leg much like a neutral shoe and bare legs do in summer.

I’m wearing: Self portrait again today (I’m home alone) so you can’t see the whole outfit that well but I have teamed my fave little flats with Country Road ponte pants (see, I own other pants!), Just Jeans striped tee, Decjuba cape cardigan and Supre animal print scarf.

To be honest, my feet were a little cold but it was nice to have something different on my feet again today! I also may have gone shopping last night with my mum (who is over from Australia) and there may have been a new shoe purchase….. so watch this space…..
