Ok it’s that time again – let’s talk about how we can get more versatility out of your clothes….. here is One Item, Three Ways (or as I called it on Facebook the other day, Three Items, One Way…. not wait, what!?)
Today’s item is something that most of us should have in our wardrobe – a stripe tee (it can be longer sleeve, or no sleeve – what ever you have).
It’s such a staple, but lends itself really well to so many occasions (much like salt & vinegar chips really….*coughs*)
Anyway, let’s look at just three of the ways you could wear a striped tee, and some of the best options out there are the moment.
Cool and casual here we come. A more stylish take on ‘jeans and a tee’ – add some fun shoes, wear a pair of on trend jeans, and voila!
GET THE LOOK: tee $29.99 and jeans $99.99 (similar here) both gifted from Jeanswest | Rochas boots gifted from Shopbop.com (sold out)
Want a more work-friendly look? Why not try tucking your stripe tee into a skirt. Add tights and a coat for winter, or a cute wedge or pump for summer.
GET THE LOOK: tee from Jeanswest $29.99 (gifted) | skirt was a dress I cut off from Esprit | Django & Juliette boots from Styletread.com.au | Portmans coat (2 winters ago) | Forever New necklace (similar here $34.99)
I LOVE a good print clash! The trick is to make sure that both prints have something in common – in this case, it’s the colour. They are both a black and white print, plus one is more dominant than the other so they don’t clash.
GET THE LOOK: Jeanswest stripe tee $29.99 (gifted) | boohoo.com pants (similar here $40) | Country Road wedges (similar here) | RayBan sunglasses from Shopbop.com (gifted)
So they might not be three of the most opposite-ends-of-the-universe ways to wear a stripe tee, but it gives you options. Here are three of my faves out now for you to try these looks at home.
SHOP THE LOOK (l-r) Country Road stripe tee $64.90 | Portmans roll sleeve tee in white/navy $24.95 | Witchery split hem tee $44.90
Do you already own a stripe tee? Or is it something that just made it to the wish list 😉
How do you style yours? Tell me in the comments below, I’d love to know!
I love my striped tees – there are a few in my wardrobe. I am not really a tshirt lover but there seems to be an exception when it comes to ones with stripes. I especially love yours with the skirt (that was a dress – very clever!).
I’m TOTALLY not a tee shirt person either (I probably should have said that in the blog) but you are so right, there is something special about adding a stripe. x
