Have I mentioned lately that I love shoes? My business card even has “shoe addict” on it, I kid you not!
So I thought I’d share the shoe love today and talk about three styles of shoes that will get you rocking into Autumn in style!
Now I LOVE me a heel, but I also spend a lot of my time on my feet, so I’m all about the practical shoes. But just because they are practical, doesn’t mean they can’t be pretty too right?
So here are my three styles of shoes you NEED right now!
1. The Nude Ankle Boot
I don’t think I bang on enough about these on the blog, but they really are my go-to shoes right now!
The NUDE colour is what gives these shoes such versatility – you can wear then with bare legs (like I’ve been doing a bit in #everydaystyle over on Facebook and Instagram) or rock them with jeans as the weather gets colder.
Find a nude that matches your skintone, so if you have an olive-based skin, try a warmer sand or caramel colour. If you have a cooler (or pink-based) skintone, the greys and pinks are for you.
Here are 3 of the best
SHOP THE BOOTS: 1. I Love Billy grey ankle boots from StyleTread $99.95 | 2. Siren heels from TheIconic.com.au $199.95 | 3. Country Road Chelsea boot $171.75
2. The Man-Style Brogue
Brogues are the new ballet flats – you heard it here first (well probably not, but I’m reiterating the point ok?). They are comfortable, flat and easy to wear with most things.
They have a slightly more sophisticated feel than a ballet flat I think. But if the brogue-style isn’t for you, try a loafer. Similar kind of shoe, just without the lace-up man-style feel.
I love wearing them with super-feminine outfits to contrast the man-style, but if your style isn’t as girly, they look great with jeans and a blazer in a real androgynous, classic look too.
Here are 3 of my faves!
SHOP THE SHOES: 1. Mr W & Me brogues $129.00 | 2. Country Road derbies $126.75 | 3. EziBuy pointed patent oxford $49.99
3. The Fashion Trainer
Whether they are shiny metallic, sleek black and white or pretty pastel colours, there is a fashion trainer out there for everyone.
SportsLuxe is a big trend we’re seeing right now, and the best thing about this trend is that it’s COMFORTABLE!
To avoid looking like you’ve just hit the gym (or you’re about to play netball as The Husband said to me the other day) try matching back your trainers with something a little more feminine, rather than trying to go sporty head to toe.
Trainers are a great way to make something feel a little more casual for the weekend, whether you’re just popping to the shops or the park, heading on a road-trip with friends, or heading to the movies on date night.
Check these babies out!
SHOP THE SHOES: 1. Rubi Shoes trainers $15 | 2. Adidas trainers from ASOS $149 | 3. EziBuy pull on sneakers $39.99
Three types of shoes, at all different budgets so something for everyone. They are great styles for wearing now, but they will all transition with you through into Winter too – versatility is key as always.
Can you see yourself walking the line in any of these fabulous shoes? Tell me which ones you love in the comments below!
Oh my gosh, the brogues are definitely on top of my list. I am not sure why but wearing something that my is masculine in nature paired up with really girly outfit like dresses seems like a nice fashion contrast to me.
totally agree Ashton! I do the same with trainers too and love the look 🙂
I also love the Deuce Satin trainer http://www.overlandfootwear.co.nz/ProductDetail.aspx?categoryid=163&productid=6400&Colour=Grey%20Satin#colour=Grey Satin that I bought this Autumn. They’ve carried on well into winter and go easily with everything.
hi there,
Love the shoes you’ve suggested! I recently bought these boots on impulse – http://www.maxshop.com/productdisplay.aspx?pageid=195&categoryid=1141&productId=5124&colour=Animal%20Print While I love them I’m not sure how to style – any ideas for casual professional office environment?
oooooh I saw them other day and love them! I would suggest making everything else really simple (ie black) and make the shoes the feature. So wear them back with a black dress and black tights (or bare legs in this weather), or with really skinny black pants/jeans (if that works at your work) and a plain top perhaps?
Hope that helps a little! Maybe a blog post in that! How to wear your animal print shoes! x
