BONUS POST! I don’t normally post on a Thursday but I have so much to say this week I couldn’t fit it all in on my usual days – enjoy! Cait xoxo
Now I know this isn’t really a ground-breaking trend, but it’s definitely a strong one this summer at The Warehouse. There is a maxi dress in every shape and colour, for every event you could imagine!
Maxi dresses are one of the most versatile pieces you can have in your summer wardrobe and The Warehouse hasn’t disappointed this year. Here are just of my picks you can find on the floor right now.
SHOP THE DRESS: Maya draped maxi dress RRP $25.00 (in store now)
This flattering shape comes in a number of prints and colours, enough to suit everyone but I’m loving this black-based floral print. Team it with a pair of wedges like I have for a Christmas party, or just throw it on over togs in the middle of summer to hit the beach.
This is a really flattering style if you have a bust. The shape of the maxi comes in and under your boobs so you don’t lose your waist. This one is definitely making its way into my wardrobe this Summer.
SHOP THE DRESS: Mambo at The Warehouse tassel maxi RRP $49.00
Who doesn’t love a classic black maxi, and the tassels add a little element of design to a simple dress. The ties are totally adjustable so you can drop or raise the neckline to suit your shape.
Accessorise this how you like. I do love adding a metallic detail (or three) to a plain-coloured maxi, but you could go a bright colour, a fun scarf or some statement earrings – use the maxi as your blank canvas.
SHOP THE DRESS: Garage halter maxi dress RRP $35.00
This print is BANG on trend right now, and the lovely floaty fabric makes this dress super-flattering on different body shapes. I’ve belted mine to add some more definition around my waist but you could just wear it plain for a more relaxed look too.
Dress it up for a night out with some jewellery and fancy sandals or wedges, or just wear it casually on the weekend.
SHOP THE DRESS: Garage drapey maxi dress RRP $29.00
This maxi should be a staple in EVERY girls wardrobe. It’s the dress you can just throw on any time in summer and you are good to go. Work it back with a tan belt and wedges for a sunday session with friends in the sun, or throw on with a straw fedora hat and trainers to pop out for your Saturday coffee.
The stretch fabric is SUPER-comfy to wear, and it will just go in and out of the washing machine with easy (we love easy-care garments right). The perfect casual summer dress.
Are you already a maxi dress fan? Or is this something new to you? Which is your pick for the summer? Tell me in the comments below, I’d love to know!
Until Next Time,
In Love & Style Always

I wish i had height to wear maxi’s, especially after seeing you in these amazing dresses. You look amazing… xx
thanks lovely!!! There are HEAPS of maxi’s at the moment that are slightly higher at the front that work if you are a little on the short side – my biggest problem is finding one long enough!! Grass is always greener isn’t it 😉
I love a good maxi! You are rocking these ones Cait! The first and third are my faves – love the patterns!
As a ‘shortie’ I find I have to be careful with my maxi choices as a lot of them end up dragging on the ground {and I can’t sew hems to save my life}. But they truly are the perfect Summer accessory. In fact I’ve got a draft post sitting here waiting to be completed on Maxi’s – I’ll be sure to link to this post of yours in it when I publish.

oh thanks lady! Yeah the length thing is always an issue (if you are tall OR short!) but some of these draped hems are really good for that 😉 The first one is my fave too – I can see that getting a lot of wear this summer. Can’t wait to read your post too!! xx
I love the idea of a maxi dress, but at 5 foot 1 I just can’t find any for me!
The floral draped one would definitly work on you! Look how short it is on me at the front. Never say never
Cute! But what kind of bra are you wearing Cait? I find it hard to find a good maxi bc they’re often spaghetti straps and I’m just too big to be comfortable in a strapless…
yeah a strapless – Intimo does the BEST big-busted strapless bra, it’s the most comfortable one I’ve ever found, and really supportive! I don’t generally wear a spaghetti strap maxi either (these are the exceptions, not the rule) – Jacqui E always does a good one with thick straps,I get one every year. I also have a few good ones from Sacha Drake and EziBuy has a heap of good ones too x
Where do you get Intimo in Auckland? I have the same issue with strapless bras, they always feel like they’re not doing the job and are about to fall down!
Hey Jacqui – you need to order it through a consultant (you don’t have to host a party or anything though!) email intimo@intimo.com.au to find your closest consultant 🙂
