Yellow is one of those colours that, if not used according to the instructions, can make you look rather queasy. BUT worn the right way, yellow can be a delight!

I’m seeing quite a few of these deeper yellow colours come through for Autumn/winter, and can I tell you, I’m LOVING it!

yellow is the new black

So when I was flipping through the new EziBuy catalogue (I LOVE getting that thing in the mail, don’t you?!) and saw that they are going crazy for a deeper, citrus yellow, I had to have it – a few days later, this gorgeous dress appeared on my doorstep…..

I love the detail in the back – it pulls the waist in just a teeny bit. But you could also belt it (like in the middle inspo pic above).

I’ve paired it back with black details and a red lip to make it seem bolder for a nighttime event or do (totally channeling Michelle Williams and THAT dress she wore to the Oscars. Still best dressed ever in my book). The black accessories give it an edge – a dark nail would look amazing against this colour too!

I also love that you can pair this dress down with trainers and a hat. The forgiving fit of this dress makes it easy to wear during the day (as well as frocked up at night).

I’ll be rocking this dress today for a personal styling client shopping trip and then a lunch meeting after that. Wedges might be the shoe of the day though – somewhere in-between the heel and the trainer.

And to get you into the Yellow Zone, here are a couple of other pieces that can either make the outfit, or just add a smidge of yellow (if you don’t feel like going all Big Bird on us).
