You know those trends where you first see it and you say “oh I’m never doing that!” … pool slides, cropped tops, dungarees, the list goes on (but yeah, defs never doing the pool slide look).
Well I have to admit that the bomber jacket look may have been one of those trends for me to start with. I think it has something to do with the fact I was a kid in the 80’s and you know what they say…. if you did it the first time, don’t do it again.
But then I started seeing them around the place, especially the floral print ones – and I think the pretty fabric grew on me, until I did, in fact, purchase one, this Topshop one, from Recycle Boutique in Auckland
My Topshop bomber jacket – I bought mine at Recycle Boutique in Auckland – my fave place for picking up high street and designer options for less!
And now I’m OBSESSED! I see them everywhere and think they are super-cool! (such a sheep I know).
I think the trick to wearing the floral, or embroidered bomber is to make IT the statement, like I have above. I’m wearing all black and the jacket speaks for itself, rather than competing with other prints and colours.
Alternatively, over a little black dress could be super-cute too. Do the jacket up to define your waist over a fitted dress, like below, to change it up.
Now that I’ve convinced you that you can totally rock this trend too, here are three of the best on the market today, from cheap and cheerful, to designer chic!
