I love a good statement piece – necklace, shoes, bag, whatever – as long as it stands out and people notice it.
So imagine my delight when I saw this latest trend come through for Spring – Floral Bombers! Woot Woot! A lightweight Spring jacket that will just make you happy wearing it (that is the point after all, to feel happy in your clothes.)

More and more gorgeous jackets are hitting the stores so I thought I’d pull together a few of my faves and give you some tips on how to wear this cute trend……

MAKE IT THE STATEMENT
I was shopping with a friend recently and she was interested in buying one of these gorgeous jackets but was unsure how to style it. So here are the tips i gave her:
- it’s ALL about the jacket – pair it back with a simple outfit, jeans and a white tee, or ALL black. Put the focus on the jacket
- It looks great over a dress – don’t be scared to add some funk to a plain dress. Most of these jackets are quite cropped too so they will nip in at the waist
- try a few sizes – I often go down a size in a jacket as I want it to fit quite neatly over my shoulder and through my waist. The Dotti one above is a size 8 (I’m a regular size 12) but I liked the smaller fit better.
- this style DOES suit everyone – it’s just about how you wear it. If you need to define your waist, go a size down, or look for a cropped version!
A lightweight jacket is always a great addition to anyone’s wardrobe, no matter what the season and I can see this trend lasting for a few seasons to come yet, so don’t be scared to give it a go!
