Now I’m usually a blazer girl through and through, but a new shaped jacket has caught my eye recently and I think I’m in love….. The Printed Bomber Jacket.
Traditionally, Bomber Jackets used to be big, and over-sized and frankly, not to flattering on anyone with a waist, boobs or hips (oh hey all of the things that I have)….
But recently, I’ve noticed that the bomber jackets in store are smaller, more fitted and more lightweight, making them a much more flattering fit. Yay right?
So not only is the shape more figure-friendly than it used to be, there are FAR more colours and prints to play with now!
I picked up this super-fun printed bomber at Zara recently, and I couldn’t help but share it with you, as well as a few tips on how to style a printed bomber, AND a few others that you can get your hands on….
Zara Printed Bomber Jacket NZ$ 69.90 (in store now)
HOW TO STYLE YOUR PRINTED BOMBER
This is quite a statement jacket, so if you are unsure, keep everything else neutral. A simple white tee and jeans work well, the jacket is a great way to dress up the simplicity of jeans + tee.
I also love wearing a printed bomber over a dress, again, stick with a simple, block colour to start with.
If you are slightly more adventurous, don’t be scared to print clash (there’s a whole other blog coming on that shortly). Stripes work well under this little number.
WHERE TO GET YOUR OWN
This funky pop-art print bomber I’m wearing is in store at Zara in Aus and NZ now (no online store for us sorry!), so here are a few other printed bombers that can be yours with a few clicks of the mouse….
SHOP THE BOMBERS: Cooper by Trelise “Da Bomb” jacket $230 on sale | Portmans “You’re Piping Hot” bomber $99.95 | Boohoo.com “Naomi” printed bomber $28 | Jacqui E “Poppy” lace bomber $99.95 on sale
So this is a trend that might not be around for a long time, but it’s definitely here for a fun time haha! And what use is fashion if it can’t be fun every now and then right?
