I’m going to the beach. I’m going to the beach.
Sorry, can you tell I’m excited?? Me and the hubby and the bubby are heading to Vanuatu for 10 glorious days and it cannot come soon enough!
The beauty of heading to a tropical paradise for your holiday, is that you don’t really have to pack a lot of stuff. In fact, the less I can pack, the better. I have more important things to worry about, like how many swims a day can I squeeze in!
So because sharing is caring, I thought I’d share with you what I’m packing in my suitcase, and give you some tips on what to pack too incase you’re heading away sometime soon! (this would also work for a local summer holiday too)
So here is what I would be (am) packing….
IN MY SUITCASE:
Boohoo.com “Beatrice” neon print maxi dress $18.00 | H&M tie front tee $14.99 | Portmans sequin “Anamalia’ tee $49.99 | Cait & Co Bamboo Miracle Dress in Lilly Pily $85 | Max white linen shirt $99.99^ | Witchery broderie dress $199.95 | Country Road white twill linen shorts $99.90 | Jeanswest “Kalli” distressed boyfriend shorts $59.99 | Boohoo.com “Rubi” leaf print beach kimono $14.00 | Kmart mesh insert swimsuit $24.00 | H&M bikini top $24.99 + bottom $14.99 | Witchery Summer Fedora Hat $64.95 | Havaiana metallics slims jandals $50 | Ziera “Toni” slides $199.95
I think this is a pretty good formula for a light suitcase (give or take the number of days you are going away for);
3 x dresses
3 x tops (1 shirt)
2 x bottoms (could be a skirt too)
2 x shoes
2 x togs
1 x hat
1 x kaftan
So here are just a few of the combos that you could create out of these items (see above for all the garment details)
that way you have things that layer together, or can be worn in different ways, and let’s face it, we’re going to be wearing our togs 90% of the time anyway so as long as you have something to throw over the top, you’ll be fine!
Don’t forget that you can layer things like tees over dresses, and the kimono over a tee and shorts so you have more options than you think.
Here are 12 outfits just from this little capsule, and most of the time your holiday won’t even last that long! There are so many more combos that you could put together too, this is just the start.
Oh and one more thing, remember the last travel capsule wardrobe post I wrote HERE? Well the great news is the Booking.com link is still available! Yup! That means that when you book your next holiday through booking.com, you’ll get $40 back (credited back to your cc) when you get home from your trip!! Now the only questions remains, where are you going on your holiday??

Hiya Cait, this is the second recent post I have noticed BooHoo.com. I have never heard of them. I had a quick look at their website, they have aLOT on offer at great prices. Are they a Kiwi brand/site? Or overseas? If overseas, are their prices in $NZ and how do their sizings relate to what we are used to here? (Still a scaredy clothes cat!) B
