Oh hey! I’m SO excited to bring you the first blog in a new series I’ve created with fellow NZ blogger, Monique from Dressing Up.

You know when you meet someone and you just go, “oh yeah, you are my people” – that’s me and Mon. We’re both passionate about giving women, ALL women, no matter what your shape or size, the tools to look and feel amazing everyday.

So we came up with this concept that we could wear the same piece of clothing on both of us, two different shapes, two different sizes and two different style personalities, to show you guys that there are heaps of different ways to wear stuff!

I’m a size 10-12 with a DD bust, and Monique is a 14-16 with gorgeous curvy hips so we both style things in different ways to play up our assets.

The first piece we picked was from my online store, Cait & Co (which the gorgeous Mon modelled for me back in Spring too!).

This Home-Lee midi dress ($119.95) is a great piece for Autumn. It’s a slightly thicker jersey fabric (not clingy at ALL), its got an elastic waist band, which helps for versatility in fit, and hello, pockets!

So here is the dress on me….

SHOP THE LOOK: Home-Lee stripe midi dress from Cait & Co $119.95 | Just Jeans denim jacket $99.95 | Andrea Moore sunnies (old season) | Converse Trainers from The Iconic $100 ^.

I’m wearing it with my usual “everyday style” uniform of a denim jacket and trainers. This is my favourite way to wear a dress, as I feel like it lets you dress things down a little, but still look put-together.

As a new mum, I love the pockets (for storing all those extra things like tissues, and dummies and rusks….. yup, my life has changed haha) but I also really love how the elastic waist band, worn up high on my waist, gives my mummy tummy some great camouflage!

The scoop of the hem is also super-flattering, even if you are wearing flats like I am, with this dress.

I’m wearing my standard size 12, but I could also go down a size to a 1o for a slightly neater fit if I wanted.

So now it’s the lovely Monique’s turn, here is how she styled her look…..

I love Monique’s “dressed up” take on this seemingly casual dress. She’s added a gorgeous silver heel and fun statement necklace, I love the pink (dress) on pink (necklace) on pink (hair) action! You can never have too much pink!

To see her take on the dress, make sure you have a read of her blog post here.

And the most fun part of the shoot, the two of us together!

Both Monique and I are driven by the desire to help women look and feel good everyday, no matter what your shape, size, age, style or budget and we are really excited to bring you this series.

Is there a piece you’d like to see both of us style in different ways? Tell me in the comments below and it might just appear in an upcoming blog post!
