Winter. I think it’s on its way, but living in Auckland, I’m never to sure.
Saying that, I’ve definitely been starting to look at the longer sleeved, or thicker fabric options in my wardrobe recently.
One of those such items that I think will be a perfect addition to my Autumn/Winter wardrobe is this cool sweater I’ve got in the Cait & Co store, from Home-Lee… Here it is on the Home-Lee model…. (she’s a size 8)
Home-Lee ‘Fly Free’ Sweater from Cait & Co $119.95 available in size 8 – 16.
It also comes in Black with White if pink isn’t your thing,
This sweater is the perfect weight for this time of year and onward. Being a cotton/elastane, it’s not going to be too hot, but will give you the coverage and weight that means you can it on its own now, and then layer either under it with merino, or over it with a coat as it cools down
So when I teamed up with the lovely Monique from Dressing Up to shoot this sweater, I was really excited to see how we both choose to style it!
Interestingly, neither of us went for the ‘standard’ jeans and trainers or boots, which is the first way that most people would think to wear it.
We are both skirt girls, so I LOVE that we both went straight for the skirt option…… here is how I’m wearing it
MY STYLE: I love the idea of mixing more feminine looks (the white and pink in the sweater) with something a little more edgy in the leather pieces like this skirt from EziBuy, and boots from Alias Mae.
The waistband on the sweater makes it really easy to wear with skirts and still define your shape.
Size note: I’ve gone DOWN a size in the sweater, wearing a 10, to make it look slightly more fitted, as I’m usually a 12.
And here is the gorgeous Monique rocking hers….
HER STYLE: I LOVE that Mon also thought to style this sweater with a skirt, and what a skirt!! This Coop number is a fave in her wardrobe (I know cause I always Insta-stalk her) and I love that she’s teamed it with boots from Hannahs to really give it a Wintery feel!
Size note: Monique is a 14/16 and she has also sized down for a more fitted look, wearing a 14. You can read her blog post about it here.
I really love doing this series with Monique, we both have different styles, yet seem to always like the same pieces haha!
We love teaming up together to show YOU guys how you can get the most out of things we have found that we love, or just giving you some inspiration to shop your own wardrobe!
Tell us what you think of how we’ve styled it in the comments below? Or is there anything you’d like to see us both wear? Let us know, we’d love to give it a go!

Both lovely, leminine looks. Being from the 80s mumble mumble sweatshirts are banned and I would never have thought to team them with skirts. Nice. I’m not sure if I’ll let them back in just yet, but I won’t auto cross them off!
as a bone-fide child of the 80’s, I hear-by give you permission to bring them back!!
