Valentine’s Day may have come and gone, but that doesn’t mean date night should be forgotten!
We don’t really do Valentine’s Day in our house (Blogger Husband is smart, he sent flowers 2 weeks before V Day haha!) but that doesn’t mean we don’t like a good date night every now and then.
No matter if it’s a first date, or a 101st date, you want to look good for your special person right? So I’ve put together three looks to help you get your date-mojo on!
LOOK 1: The Jeans Edit
Who says you can’t look hot in jeans? I think they are a great option for a day-time or more casual date. They are one of THE most versatile pieces of clothing in your wardrobe so here’s how to rock them on a date.
SHOP THE LOOK: I AM from Andrea Moore “Fruit Salad” top $130 * | H&M jeans $14.99 (similar here) | Andrea Moore “Flash Bright” sunglasses $298 * | Decjuba clutch (similar here from The Iconic^ ) | Alias Mae heels $179.95
Add a fun blouse, some heels and some killer red lippy (this is my fave from Sisley), just make sure your jeans are stretchy if date involves either food or sitting for long periods of time!
LOOK 2: The Sexy Mama
Make him do a double take when you walk out of the bedroom. Who cares if you’ve been together for 50 days or 50 years, you can still dress to the nines for your date.
I love the simplicity of the cami from Glassons, but I think the strap detail makes it a little more sexy (Bra note – as a bigger-busted gal, I tend to steer clear of shoe-string straps, but for this look, I’ve just made sure I’m wearing a black-strapped bra with straps a little thicker to add the width I need to balance out the boobies)
Shop The Look: Glassons strap detail cami $29.99 | Asos animal print scuba skirt (old season but find similar here) | Bag bought in Thailand, similar from Colette by Colette Hayman here ^ | Verali heels from StyleTread $79.95 ^.
LOOK 3: The Style Queen
What better excuse to have some FUN with your style than on date night!! Go into your wardrobe and pull out the most fabulous, stylish, over the top, fun pieces you have and enjoy wearing them!
I’m madly in love with the print in this Charlo by Augustine dress, oh and it happens to be called Caitie too (meant to be!). I went to wear it to an event the other day and was going to pair it with a simple pair of black heels, but then I remembered I had these amazing cage heels from Nine West so out the came!
What’s the point of having fabulously fun clothes if you don’t wear them right? Date night is the perfect excuse, so go on! Have fun with your fashion!
Shop The Look: Charlo from Augustine by Kelly Coe “Caitie” Dress $169 | Nine West “Alejandro” heels $50 on sale | Madewell “transport” tote from shopbop $250
Three different looks, now you have an excuse for at least three different dates nights in the near future right? Now does anyone know a good babysitter…….?
Have you got an occasion coming up and not sure what to wear? Tell me in the comments below and I’ll look into adding it to the What To Wear series! I’d love to know so don’t be shy!

Thanks for this great post! We don’t do date night very often but I’ll be keeping it in mind! I’d love to know your ideas for dressing for a retail job interview. I’ve done heaps of corporate interviews so just wondering how to pare it down a little for something not so corporate? Thanks!
Hey Trina,
So I’d wear a nice dress and team it back with a blazer. The dress is less corporate, but the blazer says you mean business. You want to show a little flare if its a retail job, they want to see your personality.
Hope that helps? Good luck!
