A couple of Very Smart People have said to me, in reference to my upcoming wedding, don’t sweat the small stuff. Which is what I’m trying very hard not to do.

BUT there is one kind of ‘small stuff” I AM thinking a lot about, and that is my wedding jewellery! I’ve got the dress (check), hair style (check), shoes (check) and veil (check) but what about the gorgeous jewellery I get to wear to finish off my look on the day.

And not only my look, there are bridesmaids, Mother’s of the Bride and Groom AND all the guests that can have fun with accessories too. So I’ve teamed up with Michael Hill Jewellers to deck out the whole wedding party with the best bling there is.

Here’s what I’m thinking……

The Bride

Jewellery: Michael Hill one carat white gold bridal set $3,999 | Michael Hill sterling silver diamond cluster earrings $99 (on sale) | Michael Hill sterling silver and diamond heart bracelet $159 | Dress: Reem Acra from Shopbop.com $7,500

No, this is NOT my dress (you’re not going to get that information that easy) but it’s of a similar look and feel so the accessories are pretty much spot on for what I’m looking for on my big day.

Simple and elegant, my jewellery will compliment, but not overshadow my dress. I’m wearing my hair down so no need for big earrings – these cluster studs are perfect.

The Bridesmaids

Jewellery: Michael Hill pink & white cubic zirconia drop earrings $499 | Michael Hill sterling silver heart ring $79 | Michael Hill sterling silver fancy bead bracelet $79 | Dress: Forever New “Molly” wrap dress $199.95

So here’s probably the biggest secret of the wedding styling so far, my bridesmaids are wearing a print! Yep, that’s right. No block colour here (again, this is NOT the dress they are wearing).

I wanted their dresses to be fun and playful (and I am from Queensland after all, and you know how we love a print). This means, once again, the jewellery doesn’t need to be too OTT. I like the idea of the stacking bangles (arm party!!!) and the little heart ring is just perfect to celebrate a day of love!

The drop earrings will look amazing with the girls up do’s and draw just the right amount of attention to the embellished neckline of the dress. Stunning!!

MOB MOG

Jewellery: Michael Hill cultured fresh water pearl necklace $99 | Michael Hill 6mm cultured fresh water pearl earrings $79 | Michael Hill cultured fresh water pearl bracelet $99 | Dress: Sacha Drake ” Primrose” dress $349.

What else says Mother of the Bride/Groom like some gorgeous pearls. Now neither my mum or The Boy’s mum are your ‘traditional’ Mother Of…. they will NOT be wearing twin-sets or hats, and they are both quite amazing in their own style, but a little bit of tradition won’t go astray in the accessories department.

I love how the gorgeous white of the pearl will stand out again this deep navy. The necklace will sit beautifully against this neckline – a perfect backdrop for a stunning piece of jewellery.

The Guest

Jewellery: Michael Hill 10CT yellow and white gold floral disk necklace $239 (on sale) | Rings (top to bottom) Michael Hill 10CT yellow gold heart stack ring $249 | Michael Hill sterling silver patterned stack ring $35 | Michael Hill 10CT yellow gold ball stack ring $229. | Dress: Sheike “High Tea” dress $159.95

Phew! So we are ALL sorted for accessories now! With just under 10 weeks to go, I’m glad to have one more thing ticked off my list!

What jewellery did you wear on YOUR wedding day? (or to someone else’s wedding) I’d love to know, tell me in the comments below!

Until Next Time
