So as many of you gorgeous things know, I’m getting married. And it’s really soon! Less than three months to be exact.
Now I thinkΒ the planning has all gone relatively smoothly (it’s the only wedding I’ve planned, so I don’t have anything to compare it to really!) BUT we have had some minor hiccups.
- Our venue was booked on our original preferred date
- One of my gorgeous bridesmaids got pregnant and is due too close to the wedding date to fly
- Our invites almost caused World War 3 (but they look amazing so was worth it in the end, almost)
- My dress doesn’t fit…….(it’s FINE, I’m FINE)
You know, the usual.Β BUT! I’ve decided that I really want to enjoy the lead up to my wedding, and I’ve taken on the new mantra of “whhhhhhaaaaaaatever”. That is my motto and I’m sticking to it.
But I also want to be prepared on the big day, so I CAN enjoy it and have fun with my friends and family (oh and the groom) soΒ here are a few things that I will be holding close on my wedding day to make sure the stress levels are at an all-time low……
1. A glass or two of bubbles will definitely not go astray on the big day! I’m loving this limited edition Lindauer Summer (and it won’t break the bank either!)
2. As much as I love a heel, just knowing that I have these gorgeous flats from Witchery to change into when my feet get sore takes some of the pressure off! (literally). And there you go! You’re first sneak peak of what I’ll be wearing on my wedding day! (that’s all you’re getting)
3. My wedding Vows. Knowing what I have to say when I marry the love of my life will definitely make things easier! One of my girlfriends (she knows who she is ;-)) left writing her vows until the morning of her wedding and found that created more stress that she needed on the day so I will make like a Girl Guide and be prepared! (or is that the Scouts…..)
4. My Mum! She is the ultimate stress-reliever and the person I always go to first when I’m feeling stressed so I’ll make sure she is close to me in the preparation! It’s tricky having her so far away (well I know Aussie isn’t THAT far, but it’s further than just down the road like she used to be) so it will be amazing having her over here in NZ for my special day.
5.NIVEA Stress Protect Clinical Strength deodorant. This is the practical option. I’m getting married in the middle of summer, so not only is stress at an all-time high, but when there is stress, there is sweat. I’m wearing possibly the MOST expensive item I have ever, or will ever own, so I need to make sure that when I doing all that stressing, Β I’m not sweating all over my dress.
So I THINK I have my big day under control (famous last words right?!)
How do YOUΒ handle stressful situations? Was you wedding (and lead up) a stress? Or did you just say whhhhhhhaaaaaaatever too? I’d love to hear your advice!

Absolutely loving this blog! π As an Aussie gal planning her big day in Thailand I can totally relate to the no-stress vibe. The secret? I got myself a fab wedding planner! Can’t wait for my dream destination wedding day to unfold!
I wasn’t stressed. I loved the build up and preparation and enjoyed every minute of the big day. I think it’s good to remember its a wedding, not a show! When you are marrying your best friend and the love of your life, it’s a great day!
Could not agree more Katrina π xx
I think you are doing incredible! It takes a very strong person to be calm and I think you are extremely strong!!
awww thanks! we’ll get there in the end – there’s no use stressing about things out of your control right?
Pause. Then breathe. I always remember that what comes out of my mouth can’t be taken back as often when in stressful situations I sound like I have touretts! Which can offend and doesn’t improve the situation.
haha great tip Sarah! We’ll have to remind each other of that over the next little while π
I deal with stress by meditating, time out for me and also with a nice cup of camomile or rosΓ© tea. You’re going to be a gorgeous bride Cait I can’t wait to see you on your wedding day Xx
Good tip – I have been meaning to look into meditating for a while now, I LOVE rose tea – I’ve got one with vanilla in it too – divine! xx
Yay for being in control of not being in control! I am sure you’ll be a chilled, happy bride with this attitude and “no plan plan” – as will one very grateful groom π x
thanks lady! Can’t wait to see you over here this summer! xx
