Has anybody seen Spring? I think someone left it somewhere ’cause it hasn’t got the memo that it’s supposed to be here.
Plus, to add to the pain, there is SO much amazing Spring fashion in stores right now that we can’t wear yet because it’s too cold and rainy (#firstworldstylistproblems right?)
This post is also a little self-serving as I’m heading out of Auckland for the weekend for one of my bestie’s birthdays, and I have to pack clothes that work for Spring in Auckland (read: cold and rainy) so I’ve done some research as usual, and come up a couple of outfit options to wear on a rainy Spring weekend.
Keeping it Casual
So I’m thinking something like this is what I’ll wear on the ferry ride over to the amazing Kawau Island where we are staying, but you could whip this out for a weekend coffee date, or play date, or a quick trip to the movies – whatever you are doing over Saturday or Sunday, in the day time.
SHOP THE LOOK: Seed Heritage jeans $99.95 | Witchery linen tee $64.90 | Max long line coat $139.90 | CottonOn felt hat $19.95 | Top End boots from The Iconic $149.95
I often wear an outfit like this casual option. The white jeans are nice and fresh for Spring (but will keep you warm if it’s cold and windy), the lightweight jacket gives you some wind protection and the hat will keep your blow-dry out of the rain!
Glam it Up
So the theme for our big lunch for the birthday girl is en blanc but if we were heading out to an event, or on a dinner date or drinks with the girls, I’ll be rocking something more like this outfit.
SHOP THE LOOK: Seed Heritage culottes $99.95 | Witchery crop top $44.90 (on sale) | Decjuba leather jacket $449.95 | Tony Bianco heels from The Iconic $159.95
Now don’t be put off by the culottes OR the crop top – the culottes are high-waisted so no skin will be exposed, and the culottes are styled with nude heels to elongate your legs so they will create a really flattering silhouette.
I’ve chosen closed toe shoes for the wet weather, plus the universally useful leather jacket to keep out the wind and wet. The perfect Spring nighttime outfit.
It’s wet outside, but it is a little milder, so you can definitely start to integrate your Spring wardrobe into your looks.
Do you have any plans for the weekend? Have you got your outfits sorted? Tell me your plans in the comments below, I’d love to know!
