SIZE is just one small part of how things fit on your body, so why do we get so caught up in it?
With this blog series, I wanted to show you guys that size is just a number, only one small part of how things look on our bodies, and also how the same “size” can be different body shapes too.

I asked three of my lovely readers, all of whom were a size 12 (so they could fit into my clothes) so let me style and photograph them in the same outfits, so we could all see how things look on different shapes!

You can read post #1 here,  post #2 herepost #3 here, and post #4 here.

THIS outfit was definitely the one I got the most push-backs when I showed the girls what it was haha, but the both put their trust in me, and they LOVED the results.

THE GRAPHIC TEE + SLINKY SKIRT

I wanted to put the girls in this outfit because I know SO many people are worried about tucking a tee or blouse in around their middle.

But I wanted to show Sarah and Liv, AND you guys too, that it can actually look awesome, change your body proportions for the better, and really show off a fab waist and bust!

So I’ve used my fave Senora Mariposa tee (available after lockdown here) and a Decjuba skirt called the Marilyn, which has been a really popular style this season – you can see the current colours here.

So here it is…

Meet Sarah, she’s 44, 166cms tall and a size 12.
She describes her body as thicker set and fairly curvy.
“I have never been super skinny and don’t think I ever could be as I have boobs, a bum and a tummy which are all pretty obvious.”

Sarah was the first to admit that she had never thought about tucking anything into a waistband.

Describing herself as thick-set, she thought that she didn’t have a waist to show off, but MAN does this outfit prover her wrong!

Her waist looks great, her legs look longer and that smile says it all really!

Meet Liv, she’s 35, 168cm tall and a size 12.
She describes herself as an hourglass with a mom-bod haha!

Once again, Liv was nervous about tucking the tee in, but also about the slinky skirt.

The beauty of a skirt like this is the print! It is a great camouflage for areas we’re not as confident about.

These skirts are also desinged to be worn high on the waist, so they will infact just skin over the tummy area, and not cut accross it – saying that, a good pair of high-waisted undies won’t go astray under this type of skirt either.

Liv looks gorgeous! And the pops of pink in the accessories really helps to draw attention to the parts of her body that she is confident about – her waist, and her legs.

Meet Cait, she’s 39, 175cm tall and a size 12.

Haha ok! We all know who this is. We had another lovely lady lined up but I had to change the date and she couldn’t come, (don’t worry, she’ll make an appearance soon!)

The reason that I use a size 12 in this series, is literally because I’m a size 12 and these are usually just my own clothes – simple as that haha!

Regular readers will know that I’m not afraid of a tuck. I just love the overall silhouette it creates in an outfit.

If you want the same effect, you can also try the tee-tie, it creates a nice rouching detail around the waist.

And hey look, is my tummy perfectly flat? no.
Has it ever been? no.
Has is housed two children? yes.
Do I care that you can see it? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

It’s just the shape I am, and I think the older I get, the more I embrace it, and the more I have fun with my style!

So that’s it for another Size 12 Chronicles. Stay tuned for more coming up soon! I’ve still got two more outfits from this shoot to share with you!

I hope you enjoyed reading and can take something away from it, and hey, maybe even give tucking in your tee a go, who knows, you might even like it 😉
